Pricing Factors

Pricing Factors

There are many factors that go into the pricing of dumpster rentals.  The three main components are the size of the dumpster, type of debris, and weight of debris.

Size

It’s tempting to pinch pennies by opting for the smallest dumpster size, but more often than not, that can lead to trouble. Overages and additional dumpsters can become a costly inconvenience so make sure to err on the larger side of the spectrum. Remember, it is more costly to rent two 10-yard dumpsters than one 20-yarder, so when in doubt, size up.

Debris Type

Recycling is always key when looking to save on dumpster rentals. Disposal fees tend to be less expensive at recycling facilities, so if there is a facility near you, take advantage of it!

Another way to save would be to “clean load” your dumpster with materials such as shingles, wood, drywall, or concrete. These items can be brought to a recycling facility as well, helping you keep more money in your wallet.

Debris Weight

The weight of your debris greatly depends on the type of project you are undertaking. Typically speaking, household items tend to be on the lighter side, while construction items such as roofing shingles, concrete, and wood are on the heavier side.

Every dumpster rental will have a “weight allowance” in the fine print. Be sure to know what this is. If you go over the weight allowance of your contract agreement, there will be overage fees involved.
